Ann, a new play written by and starring Emmy winner Holland Taylor, will run at Lincoln Center Theater’s Vivian Beaumont Theater this spring. Directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, the solo show is a no-holds-barred portrait of former Texas governor Ann Richards. The play will open on March 7, with preview dates to be announced shortly.
Taylor has appeared on Broadway in Butley, Murder Among Friends and Moose Murders. Her off-Broadway credits include The Cocktail Hour, The Poker Session and Love Letters. Taylor won an Emmy Award for her role as Judge Roberta Kittleson in the TV drama The Practice. She currently stars on TV's Two and a Half Men. Her other film credits include Legally Blonde, Baby Mama, Romancing the Stone and The Truman Show.
Ann premiered at Galveston’s Grand 1894 Opera House in the summer of 2010 before playing San Antonio’s Empire Theatre, Austin’s Paramount Theatre, Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center. The play is produced by Bob Boyett and Harriet Newman Leve in association with Lincoln Center Theater, with Kevin Bailey serving as executive producer.
